John Adams Academy has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Westlake Charter Explorers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, John Adams Academy suffered a rough 63-40 defeat at the hands of the Wildfires.
Meanwhile, Westlake Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elite. While losing is never fun, Westlake Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1060th, while the Eagles are ranked 463rd).
Despite their defeat, Westlake Charter saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brian Ash, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Ash hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Quinones Fleeton was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
John Adams Academy dropped their record down to 6-20 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Westlake Charter, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
John Adams Academy lost to the Explorers at home by a decisive 72-56 margin when the teams last played back in January. Will John Adams Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
