Baseball Recap: Bay Path RVT Has No Trouble Against Oxford

Bay Path RVT got themselves on the board against Oxford on Monday, but Oxford never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Pirates. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Not much got past Jacob Jurado, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Oxford off the board. Jurado has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bay Path RVT let Dale Nussey and Max Lapriore run wild. Nussey went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Lapriore went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Nussey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Chase Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one stolen base.

Bay Path RVT pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Oxford, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Bay Path RVT will head out to face off against Bristol-Plymouth RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oxford, they will welcome Leicester at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
