The MaxPreps Cup is an award that attempts to determine the top overall high school athletic programs in the nation. The formula used to determine the ratings awards points for state championships won, state runner-up finishes and placement in national rankings.
The January standings include all of the points awarded during the fall season along with points from national rankings in boys and girls basketball, boys and girls ice hockey, boys and girls winter soccer and boys and girls wrestling. Wrestling rankings are compiled by Flo Wrestling. All other rankings are by MaxPreps.
Schools are listed with their fall season standings in parenthesis along with their MaxPreps Cup formula rating.
