Baseball Recap: Nucla Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Nucla, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past the Dove Creek Bulldogs 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since April 8th.

Josh Platt was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. He has become a key player for Nucla: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Brycen Rummel was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Nucla was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Nucla now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Dove Creek, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Nucla beat the Bulldogs by a score of 12-11 later that day.
