The Hills Academy Knights entered their tilt with the Trinity Prep Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Hills Academy walked away with a 60-52 win over Trinity Prep on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Hills Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hills Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Pugh, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Pugh has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Campbell, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ace Stevens, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Stevens is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Allan Ray IV was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.
Hills Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Trinity Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Hills Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against New Creation Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Trinity Prep, they will square off against Furtah Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Furtah Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
