The Fairfield Falcons will take on the Johnson Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Johnson will be up against a hot Fairfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Falcons never let Burbank get on the board and left with a 22-0 win on Friday.

Karli Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kaya Lanzon was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Claudia Lucero, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burbank only posted an OBP of .143.
Meanwhile, Johnson got the win against Foothill on Friday by a conclusive 16-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Like Fairfield, Johnson also got a great game from a two-way player: Angelene Gonzales. Throwing, Gonzales tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kayla Madison tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. At bat, Gonzales went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI, while Madison went 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Johnson got a big performance out of Valicianna Collins-Hogan, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Yessica Flores was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Johnson pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fairfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Johnson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Fairfield might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Johnson in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
