The power rankings have been shaken up after a frantic week teeming with triumph and disappointment. A special shoutout goes to Lincoln's junior Caden Filer, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Enumclaw got a 35 - 14 win over Kentwood last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Nick Harberts. Harberts ran for 190 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Harberts as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Eastside Catholic and O'Dea, 1st and 4th in the power rankings, respectively. Eastside Catholic earned a pretty comfortable 31 - 13 victory over O'Dea. Two standouts for Eastside Catholic were junior Sam Adams and senior Derek Ray; the former rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown while the latter earned two touchdowns and 59 yards rushing the ball.
No Stoppin 'Em
Kennedy Catholic has been an offensive powerhouse for six straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It got a somewhat close 49 - 45 victory over Beamer. Kennedy Catholic found its leader in an underclassman: Sam Huard tossed the ball for 532 yards and four TDs, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The combined 94-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Rainier Beach (11th in the power rankings) and O'Dea (4th). Rainier Beach will be strutting in after a win while O'Dea will be stumbling in from a defeat. We'll see if Rainier Beach can add another positive mark to its record or if O'Dea can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Rainier Beach's step.
