The St. Joseph Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Middle Township Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, St. Joseph came up short against the Braves and fell 84-75.
Meanwhile, Middle Township entered their tilt with the Hermits with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Middle Township put the hurt on the Hermits with a sharp 70-49 victory on Tuesday. Middle Township has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.
Middle Township can attribute much of their success to Bubba McNeil, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Jamir McNeil, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. McNeil hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Anthony Trombetta, who scored nine points.
St. Joseph now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Middle Township, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
St. Joseph might still be hurting after the 87-62 loss they got from the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January. Can St. Joseph avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
