After taking the lead on a
Gavin McDaniel touchdown run in the first quarter,
Coppell (Texas) was up 24-3 at the half.
The Cowboys expanded their lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. Coppell scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Brandon Rice.
Coppell's most effective player was Rice. The sophomore running back ran for two touchdowns and kicked one extra point.
Led by
Solomon Thomas, the Cowboys came in allowing an average of 22.6 points per game this season.
In a 5A Region I District 5 game next week Coppell (5-1) takes on Marcus, and Flower Mound (1-6) will go up against Hebron also in a 5A Region I District 5 game.
