Fauquier will challenge Sherando on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Sherando will be strutting in after a victory while Fauquier will be stumbling in from a loss.
Fauquier have been struggling to pick up a win, with their contest against James Wood last Friday making it eight winless games in a row. Fauquier have to be aching after a bruising 14-44 defeat to James Wood. The state rankings had actually given Fauquier a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Meanwhile, not only did Sherando outplay Handley last Friday, but the team kept Handley off the scoreboard altogether. Sherando were fully in charge, breezing past Handley 42-0. Followers of Sherando probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected six blowout victories.
Fauquier took a serious blow against Sherando the last time the two teams met, falling 7-49. Can Fauquier avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
