On Saturday, Windermere Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to Raymond. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Windermere Prep has scored all season.
Several Lakers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Bass Jr., who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Bass Jr. scored a full 42.5% of Windermere Prep's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Shoptaw, who scored 14 points.
Windermere Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Raymond, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.
Windermere Prep and Westminster Christian will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Westminster Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Windermere Prep is ranked 30th). Raymond's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wingfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Wingfield comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
