The Barrington Eagles will face off against the Scituate Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Barrington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Barrington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Portsmouth, who was ranked eighth at the time (Barrington was ranked 18th). The Eagles were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Patriots on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Maya Etheridge was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Grace Fontaine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Barrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .533 that Portsmouth posted.
Meanwhile, Scituate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-6 to Cumberland. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly ten runs.
Scituate saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Rotondo, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another was Kamryn Carlson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Barrington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Scituate, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Scituate's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Barrington hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. It's a different story for Scituate, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Barrington's hitters?
Everything went Barrington's way against Scituate in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Barrington made off with an 11-1 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
