Bullitt Central is 0-3 against DuPont Manual since May of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Cougars will square off against the Crimsons at 5:30 p.m. Bullitt Central will be strutting in after a win while DuPont Manual will be coming in after a loss.
DuPont Manual will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Bullitt Central extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Cougars came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against North Hardin. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 21, 2019, but that streak is no more.
Anderson Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Burton, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Kolton Begley also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Bullitt Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, DuPont Manual fell victim to Campbell County and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camels. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Crimsons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Bullitt Central pushed their record up to 17-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for DuPont Manual, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bullitt Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like DuPont Manual struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bullitt Central might still be hurting after the 14-2 loss they got from DuPont Manual when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
