Basketball Recap: Lovett Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lovett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Carver Panthers with a sharp 68-43 victory on Tuesday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Panthers are ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Carver lost, don't look at Jaden Rogers. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Rogers a new career-high in shooting accuracy (86%). Another player making a difference was Adonis Wimbush, who posted 11 points.

Lovett's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Carver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-17.

Coming up, Lovett will take on KIPP Atlanta Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Lovett surely won't give up without a fight. Carver does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
