The Langham Creek Lobos were the 78-58 winner over the Cypress Lakes Spartans when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Langham Creek fell just short of Cypress Lakes by a score of 65-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Langham Creek still got an impressive performance from Heather Baymon, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Baymon is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 19 or more in the last eight games she's played. Envy Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Langham Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their first loss (out of 12 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Aniah Alexis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cypress Lakes, dropping a double-double on 42 points and 13 rebounds. Alexis is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makennah Alexis, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Langham Creek's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 28-5. As for Cypress Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season.
