Crest has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.
Crest found their leader in underclassman King Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Rhodes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lyrik Pettis, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
North Gaston's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Markell Carothers, who scored 22 points along with two steals, and Max Huggins who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Carothers hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Bryson Blanton was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Crest's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 18.1 points. As for North Gaston, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Crest will head out on the road to square off against Kings Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kings Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for North Gaston, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Point at 7:30 p.m. South Point has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 327 points over their last five matches.
