The Lakeview Sailors will face off against the Karns City Gremlins at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Lakeview knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Karns City likes a good challenge.
11 must be Lakeview's lucky number: they beat Cambridge Springs with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Sailors beat the Devils by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Sailors, who have now won eight contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Parker Montgomery made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Owen Dye looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Garet Guthrie was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leyton Zacherl, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Lakeview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Karns City scored first but ultimately less than Moniteau in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. Gremlins fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Warriors since on Thursday.
Lakeview pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Karns City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lakeview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Karns City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lakeview couldn't quite get it done against Karns City when the teams last played back in April of 2022 as they fell 17-12. Will the Sailors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
