Loyola is 10-0 against the Mustangs since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. On Saturday, Loyola blew past the Fighting Irish, posting a 68-41 victory at home. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for Loyola this season.
Meanwhile, Lutheran North earned a 63-53 victory over the Cranes on Friday. The win was just what Lutheran North needed coming off of a 63-23 defeat in their prior game.
Lutheran North's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tommy Valenti, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Loyola is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Lutheran North, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7.
Loyola strolled past the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 53-36. Will Loyola repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
