Grosse Pointe South was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Anchor Bay on Friday. The Blue Devils simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tars 42-14. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Sam Rouleau continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 56 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, while also throwing for 176 yards and one touchdown while completing 86.7% of his passes. Those 176 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Wilson, who rushed for 56 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Grosse Pointe South was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.
Another reason for the win was Grosse Pointe South's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Aj Zieleniewski refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe North and Mott were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Grosse Pointe North suffered a 35-34 loss. The Norsemen have struggled against the Marauders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Grosse Pointe South's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Grosse Pointe North, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
