Sandusky has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Mansfield Senior Tygers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Sandusky focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Sandusky had to settle for a 49-47 defeat against Port Clinton. While losing is never fun, Sandusky can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while Port Clinton is ranked 241st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ra'kiya Collier, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mae Rameau, who scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Senior entered their tilt with Clear Fork with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Mansfield Senior's way against Clear Fork on Tuesday as Mansfield Senior made off with a 46-23 victory. Fans of Mansfield Senior have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
The losses dropped Sandusky to 0-3 and Port Clinton to 2-1.
Sandusky took a serious blow against Mansfield Senior in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 65-31. Can Sandusky avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
