Caston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Wabash Apaches, falling 3-0.
While Caston was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Wabash's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-12, 25-23, 27-25.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Callie Salisbury, who had eight digs, five kills, and two aces. Another player making a difference was Genevieve Berry, who had eight assists and three aces.
Wabash's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avionna Osborne, who had 19 assists, six digs, and three aces. Zoe Vail was another key player, getting nine assists, five kills, and three aces.
Caston has now lost eight of their last nine games at home. That leaves them at a 6-18 record this season. As for Wabash, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with an 8-17 record.
Caston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against North Judson-San Pierre on the 29th. As for Wabash, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Rochester on the 29th.
