The Creede Miners scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Cripple Creek-Victor on the road to the tune of 71-38. Creede has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creede to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmin Laing, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Laing continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Lila Fairchild was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 27 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists.
Cripple Creek-Victor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mackenzie Pappas, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pappas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee May, who scored ten points.
Creede's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creede will take on Sierra Grande at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sierra Grande focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they will be playing at home against Pikes Peak Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pikes Peak Christian is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
