Vestaburg extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Lily Johnston. The Vestaburg Wolverines took down the Ashley Bears 53-38 on Monday which was due in part to Johnston, who posted 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Vestaburg's points.
Another player making a difference was Callie Bills, who scored nine points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played.
Ashley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ellie Drummond, who had 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Karissa Brady, who earned eight points in addition to 12 boards and three steals. Drummond is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.
Vestaburg's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Ashley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.
