Two dominant guards in Camaya Adkins and Nakiya Boston are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Northwest Halifax Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Wilson Prep Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Halifax will be strutting in after a win while the Tigers will be coming in after a loss.
Northwest Halifax can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They blew past Warren County 66-26 at home. Northwest Halifax pushed the score to 52-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles had no chance of recovering from.
Meanwhile, Wilson Prep was the victim of a rough 71-46 loss at the hands of the Jaguars on Wednesday. Wilson Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.
Despite the loss, Wilson Prep saw an underclassman step up: Boston scored 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Braswell, who scored six points.
Northwest Halifax's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Wilson Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything came up roses for Northwest Halifax against the Tigers when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 72-34 win. With Northwest Halifax ahead 40-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.
