The Anclote Sharks suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Monday. They were dealt a 69-28 loss at the hands of River Ridge. Anclote has struggled against River Ridge recently, as their game on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
River Ridge was led to victory by Lauren Lee and JP Ferguson. Lee scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Ferguson dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten assists, and ten steals. Ferguson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaree Nichols, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Anclote has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for River Ridge, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.
Anclote will head out on the road to face off against Sunlake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sunlake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anclote in Florida (Sunlake is ranked 247th, while Anclote is ranked 496th). As for River Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Steinbrenner at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
