The Chavez Titans will be taking part in a tournament against the Argonaut Mustangs at 10:45 a.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chavez made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Johansen, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Chavez's way against Johansen on Tuesday as Chavez made off with a 20-3 win. Considering the Titans have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Natalia Dias was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Dias was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Alexyz Rico and Paulina Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Rico went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Sanchez went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Rico a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicole Sanchez, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Chavez hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Johansen struck out six times.
Meanwhile, Argonaut had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 10-4 margin over the Raiders.
The team relied heavily on Makayla Davis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Catie Strieff, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Chavez and bumps their season record up to 5-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Argonaut, their record now sits at 3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Chavez has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Argonaut struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
