The Calhoun Tigers's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Marion Rams on Friday. Calhoun walked away with a 65-56 win over the Tigers. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Calhoun's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kentavius Loftin led the charge by scoring 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Loftin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladarrius Thigpen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Calhoun has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Greenville, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.
Calhoun will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellwood Christian has now lost 20 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 9. As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carroll presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Alabama (the Eagles are ranked 124th, while the Tigers are ranked 326th).
