El Monte got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Standley out in front who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. El Monte also got a significant boost from Felipe Taboada, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 127 yards.
El Monte wouldn't let Alhambra keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force five fumbles. It was a group effort, with five picking up one apiece. With that strong performance, Gilbert Rosales is now averaging an impressive 7 total tackles per game.
The win got Whittier back to even at 1-1. As for El Monte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
