On Wednesday, San Diego Jewish Academy came up short against Army-Navy and fell 47-40. San Diego Jewish Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Abeles, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Abeles has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Silberstein, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
San Diego Jewish Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Army-Navy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Diego Jewish Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Escondido Adventist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Army-Navy, they will head out on the road to face off against Orange Glen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange Glen is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
