The Paxton Bobcats stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Florala at home to the tune of 61-26. The win was familiar territory for Paxton who now have five in a row.
Hydie Varnum continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Carson, who scored seven points along with five assists and three steals.
Paxton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Florala, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
Paxton will head out on the road to square off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Florala won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kinston at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Kinston's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Florala's offense will have their work cut out for them.
