Basketball Recap: Front Royal Homeschool Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mt. Carmel Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Front Royal HomeSchool). They were the clear victors by a 56-36 margin over the Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Warriors on Thursday.

Front Royal HomeSchool found their leader in sophomore Gertrud Osbourne, who posted 24 points. Madeline Wobbe was another key player, putting up seven points.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Darbi Hunsberger, who had 18 points and four steals. Hunsberger has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Pierce, who scored 11 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Front Royal HomeSchool's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Mt. Carmel Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Front Royal HomeSchool will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Immanuel Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 5. As for Mt. Carmel Christian Academy, they will face off against Blue Ridge Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
