The Kingsford Flivvers will head out on the road to face off against the Frankenmuth Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kingsford comes in on seven and Frankenmuth on ten.
Kingsford extended their postseason success on Saturday against Ogemaw Heights. They snuck past the Falcons with a 19-14 win.
Meanwhile, Frankenmuth stacked a tenth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 64-10 win over Birch Run at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-10.
Jack Rich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 139 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Rich has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played. Hunter Bernthal was another key contributor, gaining 139 total yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Frankenmuth's defense and their four sacks. Birch Run's QB won't forget Colin Main anytime soon given Main sacked him twice.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 10-1.
