Decatur scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverwood Raiders. Riverwood found their leader in freshman Ariyanna Thames, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 23 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Thames now owns an excellent 50% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Giselle Lestage, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 19 points and six boards.
Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Riverwood, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
Looking ahead, Decatur will be taking part in a tournament against Druid Hills at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Riverwood, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-53 defeat against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy on the 21st.
