The Eagle Mustangs and the Bishop Kelly Knights will round out the year against one another at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Eagle comes in on three and Bishop Kelly on four.
Last Tuesday, Eagle strolled past Centennial with points to spare, taking the game 54-35.
Eagle had a senior duo take command as Paige Cofer dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds and Mary (molly) johnson went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 5 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Cofer has scored at least 25% of Eagle's points. Another player making a difference was Berkley Jones, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Kelly scored the most points they've had all season to find success two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 65-16 win over Skyview at home. Considering Bishop Kelly has won four games by more than 20 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
Eagle is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Bishop Kelly, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Eagle didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Bishop Kelly in their previous meeting back in November of 2017, but they still walked away with a 48-42 victory. Does Eagle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bishop Kelly turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
