Softball Recap: Byron Nelson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

After only one run in their last game, Byron Nelson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northwest on Monday. The Bobcat's pitcher stepped up to hand the Texans a 10-0 shutout. The Bobcat might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Abbi Hicks tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February.

At the plate, Byron Nelson got a massive performance out of Bryson Farco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Farco a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Vien, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

The victory (which was Byron Nelson's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
