Rising Sun put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Harford Tech 62-16 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Rising Sun has posted since December 7, 2023.
Meanwhile, Patterson Mill entered their tilt with Harford Tech with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Patterson Mill strolled past Harford Tech with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 44-26.
Patterson Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kiley Wilhelm led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Wilhelm has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylie Madsen, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Rising Sun's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Patterson Mill, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Rising Sun beat Patterson Mill 57-46 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rising Sun since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
