The Platte Valley Broncos will square off against the Highland Huskies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Platte Valley is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. Everything went their way against Wiggins as Platte Valley made off with a 7-1 win. The Broncos not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26, 2024.

Hazen Weber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hudson Flummerfelt was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jeremiah Molinar was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Platte Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wiggins only posted an OBP of .231.
Meanwhile, Highland had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Byers 23-2. The Huskies have beaten the Bulldogs the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.
The team relied heavily on Sawyer Morgan, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Stetson Hendren, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Platte Valley took their victory against Highland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. Will Platte Valley repeat their success, or does Highland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
