The Osage Indians's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Linn Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Two weeks ago, Osage had to suffer through a rough 61-31 loss at the hands of Skyline. While losing is never fun, Osage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Skyline is ranked tenth).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Linn's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Russellville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (55), Linn still had to take the loss.
Kiana Hostetler put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 17 points along with six assists and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivien Baker, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Osage's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Linn, they dropped their record down to 12-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Osage didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Linn when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 44-38 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Linn's Aushara Hostetler, who scored 26 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Osage to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
