The Vassar Vulcans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Vassar managed to keep up with the Cardinals until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Vassar's tough 67-43 loss to the Cardinals might stick with them for a while. Vassar just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bryce Brown, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Austin Long, who scored ten points.
Vassar struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Unionville-Sebewaing came up short against the Tigers on Wednesday and fell 53-44. Unionville-Sebewaing has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Vassar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Vassar didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Patriots in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 37-32 victory. Does Vassar have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
