It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pleasantville Greyhounds can now relate to. They were beaten by Willingboro 57-29 on Friday. Pleasantville's defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Pleasantville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ahmad Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 114 yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Lamar Best, who threw for 239 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Willingboro also got a significant boost from Ray'mir Johnson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Pleasantville's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Willingboro, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Pleasantville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Willingboro will square off against Point Pleasant Boro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Point Pleasant Boro is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
