After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shelby, the Clear Fork Colts were happy to have found some success on Friday. Everything went their way against Highland as Clear Fork made off with a 40-20 victory. Given Clear Fork's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Highland is ranked 493rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Highland struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Clear Fork's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Clear Fork will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Fredericktown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Fredericktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. Highland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Granville at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Granville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
