The IDEA Riverview Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 64-48 fall against IDEA Frontier College Prep. IDEA Riverview has not had much luck with IDEA Frontier College Prep recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading IDEA Frontier College Prep to victory were Jordan Gonzalez and Victor Mendez. Gonzalez scored 23 points, while Mendez scored 29 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Mendez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ivan Garcia was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
IDEA Riverview's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for IDEA Frontier College Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IDEA Riverview will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Progreso at 7:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024. As for IDEA Frontier College Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against IDEA Sports Park at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. IDEA Sports Park has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
