Baseball Game Preview: Danville Little Johns vs. Subiaco Academy Trojans

Danville is a perfect 9-0 against Subiaco Academy since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Little Johns will take on the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Danville has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Danville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Bigelow on Thursday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Subiaco Academy fell victim to Westside and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Rebels. The shutout was out of character for the Trojans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Subiaco Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Grist, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Danville's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Subiaco Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Danville was able to grind out a solid victory over Subiaco Academy in their previous matchup on April 1st, winning 9-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Little Johns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
