The Rochester Falcons managed to keep up with the Berkley Bears until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Rochester suffered a rough 35-15 defeat at the hands of Berkley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rochester has scored all season.
Berkley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madi Bonsall, who scored eight points. Bonsall is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadia Watt, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Rochester now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Berkley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Rochester will take on Grand Blanc at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grand Blanc presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rochester in Michigan (Grand Blanc is ranked 48th, while Rochester is ranked 235th). As for Berkley, they will be playing at home against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
