The Harbor Springs Rams will take on the Cheboygan Chiefs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Harbor Springs has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Harbor Springs' last matchup with Johannesburg-Lewiston could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Rams came up short against the Cardinals, falling 13-4. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cheboygan). They blew past Charlevoix 26-1 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Chiefs needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Diem Schley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Schley was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Presley Chamberlain was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Nataleigh Blaisdell was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Cheboygan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Cheboygan has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Harbor Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Harbor Springs suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Cheboygan when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
