After flying high against the South View Tigers last Monday, the New Life Christian Academy Monarchs came back down to earth. New Life Christian Academy was the victim of a tough 64-42 defeat at the hands of Winston-Salem Christian on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Life Christian Academy has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why New Life Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is D'Marion Tomlinson. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tomlinson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb James, who scored nine points.
New Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Winston-Salem Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Elevation Prep Academy the next time they take the court. Winston-Salem Christian will host Elevation Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while New Life Christian Academy will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
