The Mooreville Troopers will square off against the Seminary Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Mooreville 3.2, Seminary 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Mooreville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They had just enough and edged out East Webster 7-6.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seminary). They put the hurt on West Marion with a sharp 23-2 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 22 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Landon Bush was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Jimmy 'JD' Harvey was incredible, going 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jomarrion 'JoJo' Flowers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
Seminary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Mooreville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Seminary, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 31-8-2.
Mooreville skirted past Seminary 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2017. Do the Troopers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
