The Maplewood Rockets will head out on the road to take on the Geneva Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maplewood will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Maplewood's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Badger. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Addison Marker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Claire Urchek, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Raegan Krieg also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Maplewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Badger only posted an OBP of .150.
Meanwhile, Geneva lost 11-4 to Edgewood on Monday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Caidyn Siegel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Sophie Acord was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Geneva now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Maplewood, their record is now 5-1.
Geneva's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Maplewood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Geneva, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Maplewood's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Maplewood might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Geneva when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Rockets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
