Baseball Recap: Nampa Christian's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Nampa Christian dropped their record down to 12-3-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 9-6 to the Cole Valley Christian Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 two weeks ago.

As for Cole Valley Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

For Cole Valley Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Carson Kile, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Kile has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Romine, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nampa Christian will venture away from home to challenge Marsing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cole Valley Christian, they will head out to square off against Melba at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
