Despite the defeat, Southern Nash had strong showings from Jayden Whitaker, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Jayden Hartsfield, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hartsfield has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tylik Mitchell, who scored six points.
Rocky Mount's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emanauel Battle, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anthony Jones, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Southern Nash has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Rocky Mount, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Southern Nash will take on Northern Nash at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northern Nash presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southern Nash in North Carolina (Northern Nash is ranked 205th, while Southern Nash is ranked 420th). As for Rocky Mount, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklinton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
